The institute is located in a sprawling campus situated on the southern bank of river the Ganga at a distance of 3 kms from Patna Railway Junction and in the North West end of the Gandhi Maidan. Even though located in the heart of city, it boasts of is picturesque location with quiet surroundings. The Institute has spacious three floor building having the Academic Complex. It houses the Administrative Office on the ground and the first floor. A three storey building for library and support office is attached to the main building.

Faculty & Staff Quarters
The Director, some senior members of the faculty and essential staffs have been provided with accommodation in the campus. A building is proposed for the faculty members and support staffs.

Gandhi Shivir
This campus has also been a part of the great heritage of freedom struggle. Mahatma Gandhi visited Bihar before indiependence and stayed in this campus from March 6, 1947 to May 24, 1947 (except April 1-14, 1947), adjacent to the house of Dr. Sayed Mahmood, the then Minister of the Government of Bihar (presently the Director's Bunglow). This glorius heritage of Bihar was recently restored by the Institute, with support from the Government of Bihar, Centre for Non-Violence and Peace Studies is located in the same building.
