Building & Campus

The institute is located in a sprawling campus situated on the southern bank of the river Ganga at a distance of 3 km from Patna Railway Junction and in the North West end of the Gandhi Maidan. Even though located in the heart of the city, it boasts of its picturesque location with quiet surroundings.
The Institute has a spacious three-floor building housing the Academic Complex. It houses the Administrative Office on the ground and the first floor. A three-storey building for the library and support office is attached to the main building.

Faculty & Staff Quarters

The Director, some senior members of the faculty, and essential staff have been provided with accommodation on the campus. A building is proposed for the faculty members and support staff.

Gandhi Shivir

This campus has also been a part of the great heritage of the freedom struggle. Mahatma Gandhi visited Bihar before independence and stayed on this campus from March 6, 1947, to May 24, 1947 (except April 1-14, 1947), adjacent to the house of Dr. Sayed Mahmood, the then Minister of the Government of Bihar (presently the Director's Bungalow). This glorious heritage of Bihar was recently restored by the Institute, with support from the Government of Bihar. The Centre for Non-Violence and Peace Studies is located in the same building.
